Becoming a Google Pokemon Master

This morning, this started doing the rounds at work. And it’s nothing short of awesome. I mean really. Whoever thought of putting Google and Pokemon together is an utter genius.

“It’s always been important to us to have the most qualified employees at Google.” Says  Brian McClendon, Vice President of Google Maps. “Now, using the technology created by the Google Maps team, we’re prepared the most vigorous test known to man, to find the world’s best Pokémon master,”

How AMAZING would it be to be able to incorporate your travels round the world with catching Pokemon? Google actually invited us this morning to become a Pokemon master, with a little help from a Google app. I know I’d be so stoked to do this. And I must admit, for a moment I was actually maybe even slightly fooled.

And when it was revealed as not quite as it is depicted in the trailer, I was only a little bit disappointed.

However, you can play a game, and you can catch yourself some Pokemon. All you need to do is get the newest version of Google Maps, and press start. Hurry up though; the challenge only lasts until the end the 2nd of April. Do some zooming and searching, and find all the Pokemon – because who cares that we are meant to be grown-ups.

There’s also been rumours that Google will offer a job, starting on the 1st September, to the ultimate Pokemon Master.

Now if you excuse me, I have some Pokemon hunting to do.
